Program Description
Proper skating mechanics are crucial for hockey players. This camp focuses on skating, stickhandling, shooting, and passing.
Powerskating
The areas of focus will be:
- Proper skating mechanics for power and efficiency - forward and backward striding
- Maneuvering - edge control, turning with power, transitioning with mohawks, punch-turns and pivots
- Quick starts and stops forward and backward
Stick skills
The areas of focus will be:
- Shooting mechanics - shoot off either foot forehand, pull and shoot, and shooting backhand with power
- Passing - forehand and backhand, including saucer pass
- Stickhandling - under-stickhandling, and advanced stickhandling
Goalies
Goalies will get a ton of shots during the shooting session and get shots during puck drills. Goalies have two options: "Full Clinic" - receive powerskating instruction the first two sessions of the clinic, which will improve their goaltending ability, or "Puckstopper" - stopping shots the last half of the clinic.
- Goalie Full Clinic: attend all sessions - Power skating instruction for the first 2 sessions and stop pucks the remainder of the clinic
- younger group $85
- older group $135
- Puck stopper: goaltending-only
- younger - attend last 2 sessions - $30
- older - attend last 3 sessions - $40
Checking and Body Contact
Checking can be scary for players and parents. This camp will help build confidence by focusing on safely receiving and delivering a check, and most importantly, the purpose of checking.
We will also cover proper angling, puck protection, body positioning, puck battles, and skating skills related to checking. Ages 10 and above.
- Goalies needed last 2 sessions - $25

*New Refund Policy for 2025 - Registration Insurance:
In response to past cancellation challenges, we've updated our refund policy; please note that no refunds (partial or full) will be issued under any circumstances.
To protect your registration payment in the event the registered participant is unable to attend due to illness, injury, or other covered reasons, we highly recommend purchasing Registration Insurance. This optional insurance, available through Vertical Insure on the registration form, can help offset the impact of our "No Refund" policy by reimbursing your registration fees if an eligible incident occurs.
- The insurance cost is a small percentage of the registration fee, approximately 7%.
We encourage you to consider this coverage to ensure peace of mind and protect your investment.
**Waitlist Registrations: If a spot in the clinic becomes available, an email will be sent to the master account, notifying that the player has "been accepted." The payment will be processed once the player is accepted.
