We try and make it as easy as possible. Register early, save a little dough. Register later? Don’t sweat it; it’s a point of pride around here to  produce what is STILL  the least expensive mountain bike stage race in the whole flippin’ multiverse, even at standard pricing.

Epic delivers the experience of a lifetime. 6 days of back-of-beyond trail riding that will put your gear, your fitness and your mental strength to the test. On-site you’ll enjoy one of the best mountain bike courses ever designed. 6 of ’em, actually…in a row.

You’ll work, eat and sweat. You’ll cuss, rage and laugh. And you’ll take home an indelibly etched memory of good times, big rides with great friends, and a sense of purpose and accomplishment. Because on Day 6, you’ll be crowned an official bad-ass. And you’ll draw upon THAT particular core of iron for the rest of your days.

Is it difficult? Yeah. Will you suffer? Also yes. But while Epic is one of endurance trail riding’s true monuments, it’s also fun as balls.

Program Description

So why Breck Epic?

Let me explain. No, there is too much. Let me sum up;  The Breck Epic. Back to the beginning. When mountain biking was about big rides with friends. About lending a hand when a rider went down. About a shared experience that somehow, flying in the face of all logic, disproportionately enriched all involved.

The Epic is composed of 6 BIG backcountry loops (3 loops for the 3-day Epic-curious events), each between 35 and 50 miles long. The event is unique in that it employs a cloverleaf format; each loop starts and finishes within a mile from downtown Breckenridge and utilizes the sprawling network of trails in both Summit and Park Counties. When mapping out the courses we asked ourselves; “What big rides would we want to tackle if we had most of the day to slaughter and 6 of our best friends?” The answer lies before you. The six stages that compose the Epic are a well-rounded rider’s dream. Long rhythmic climbs followed by endless descents that make your smile muscles hurt.

In a bizarre way, we have the assorted governing bodies to thank. Mountain biking seemed like an afterthought for many, many, many years. We’ll grant that that’s changing and it’s important to acknowledge that that doesn’t happen with someone pushing it from the inside. But the unintended result of being treated like the proverbial redheaded step-child for a decade-and-a-half is 6-day race in Breckenridge, CO that lives among a small but thriving handful of kick-ass bucket-list races.
