Program Description

2024 RMHS Fall Skills Clinic - Juneau, Alaska - October 18-20, 2024

RMHS, in partnership with the Juneau Douglas Youth Association, will be hosting a fall skills clinic on October 18-20, 2024, at the Treadwell Ice Arena. This Coed clinic will be for athletes aged from 2007 to 2017. Group #1 will be a powerskating and stickhandling clinic for the coed birth years from 2014 to 2017. Group #2 will be for the coed birth years from 2007 to 2013, focusing on Defensive & Offensive Positional Training. 

*** To maximize the learning environment, all players in each group will be separated by age and skill level. Goaltenders are welcome! 

***Attention 11 & 12 Year old players (2011 & 2012 Birth Years): you can choose to register for the Powerskating & Stickhandling group or the Defensive & Offensive Positional Training 

Group # 1 - Powerskating & Stickhandling - Ages 6-10 - 2014-2017 Birth Years

October 18-20, 2024 - RMHS is coming to Juneau for a Coed Powerskating and stickhandling clinic for players in the 2014-2017 birth year range. The players will be separated into groups by age and skill level. This will ensure the players train against players of their skill level for the best possible training environment. During this clinic, we will focus on edge control, forward and backward stride, all forms of changing direction, agility, and, of course, having some fun between training!

On-Ice - 9:15-10:30am
Off-Ice - 10:45-11:30am

Group #2 - Defensive & Offensive Positioning - Ages 11-16 - 2007-2013 Birth Years -October 18-20, 2024

Defensive & Offensive Positional Training
The Defensive segment will cover defensive tactics, coverages, checking, body play, gap control, positioning, defensive theory, transitions, jumping into the play, and defending odd-man rushes. The Offensive segment will focus on offensive theory, face-offs, sustaining an attack, cycling, attacking with speed, odd-man rushes for, offense at the puck, offense away from the puck, and support.
